Overview
The Guangming Journey is a collaborative concert series presented by MAJOR Performing Arts Groupand the Guangming Culture & Arts Center in Shenzhen.
Created to highlight the venue’s exceptional acoustics and intimate performance atmosphere, the series brings together MAJOR’s distinguished roster of artists to explore the many dimensions of classical music in today’s cultural landscape.
Since its launch in 2021, the collaboration has produced a number of acclaimed boutique concerts — each combining musical excellence with thoughtful curation. From the poetic The Nightingale and the Rose by soprano Meigui Zhang, to pianist Sheng Yuan’s Impressionist program Moments Forgotten, and soprano *Ying Huang’s luminous recital The Joy of Love, every performance has offered audiences a deeply personal encounter with music.
In 2022, the partnership expanded under two themed frameworks — “Pure Variations” and “Heavenly Voices” — presenting an exceptional lineup including Siqing Lu, Li-Wei Qin, Ying Huang, Sheng Yuan, Xu Hong, Mao Junhao, and Kuang Junhong.
Through solo recitals, chamber collaborations, and vocal performances, the series revealed a diverse palette of sound — from violin, cello, and piano to guitar, accordion, and pipa — broadening artistic horizons and enriching the city’s cultural landscape.
