Sun Yingdi Piano Recital
Pianist Yingdi Sun is one of the most prominent Chinese pianists of his generation. In 2005 he won the Gold Medal at the Liszt International Piano Competition, becoming the first Chinese pianist ever to claim this title. Praised by the Western press as “the Liszt in primary colours”, Sun has since performed extensively on the international stage, celebrated for his commanding virtuosity and poetic depth.

On the 20th anniversary of his landmark victory in Utrecht, Yingdi Sun presents an all-Liszt program that showcases the composer’s dazzling virtuosity and profound lyricism — from the poetic Petrarch Sonnets to the monumental B minor Sonata.

Flash of Time
Alongside his acclaimed career as a pianist, Yingdi Sun is also a composer whose works have recently been recorded by NCPA Classics. Following the 2024 release of the album Flash of Time: Piano Works by Yingdi Sun — featuring music written between 2020 and 2024 — Sun now brings these original compositions to the stage for the first time. Juxtaposed with masterpieces by Schumann and Brahms, the program offers a musical journey of healing, memory, and reflection.
