Hong Xu Piano Recital
Praised by the international press for his “brilliant technique, acute musical insight, and boundless potential” (The New York Times) and hailed as “a rising star of tomorrow” (BBC Music Magazine), pianist Hong Xu is recognized for his artistry and integrity as a musical idealist.
Winner of the Best Mozart Performance Award at the Cleveland International Piano Competition, Xu has recently been invited by Sir Mark Elder to tour Europe with Mozart’s piano concertos — affirming his reputation as one of today’s foremost Mozart interpreters. Beyond the stage, he has also presented acclaimed lecture series on Mozart performance practice, widely appreciated for their depth and accessibility.

In his Complete Mozart recital series, Hong Xu seeks to “restore Mozart” — to reveal the composer in his purest essence. This project represents the culmination of years of study and reflection, bringing audiences an authentic and deeply personal dialogue with Mozart’s music.

In this program, pianist Hong Xu creates a dialogue across centuries — from the elegance of Galuppi and Mozart, through the poetic Romanticism of Mendelssohn and Schubert, to the visionary modernism of Scriabin and Liszt. Juxtaposing Baroque clarity, Classical balance, and Romantic passion, the recital traces the evolution of musical expression through contrasting styles and eras.
