A MIRAGE — French Mélodies & Chinese Art Songs Recital
Ying Huang × Michel Dalberto
Shenzhen Concert Hall · April 22 · 20:00
Shanghai Oriental Art Center · May 12 · 19:30
Overview
A luminous meeting of French mélodie and Chinese art song: soprano Ying Huang (“The Nightingale from China”) joins celebrated French pianist Michel Dalberto for an evening that journeys from Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Duparc, and Poulenc to modern Chinese masters such as Huang Zi, Ding Shande, Zhao Jiping, Ye Xiaogang, and Lu Zaiyi—alongside beloved folk-song settings. The program pairs refined text-painting and coloristic harmony with Huang’s radiant timbre and Dalberto’s idiomatic French style.

Ying Huang — Soprano
Internationally acclaimed lyric coloratura whose career spans opera, concert, and recording. A Sony Classical artist, Huang has appeared with major houses and orchestras worldwide. Her artistry unites technical finesse, luminous tone, and expressive clarity—equally at home in Baroque ornament, bel canto agility, and the refined line of French song, as well as the poetry of modern Chinese repertoire.
Michel Dalberto — Piano
Winner of the Salzburg Mozart Competition, the Clara Haskil Competition, and First Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, Dalberto is renowned for his Schubert and French repertoire and for collaborations with leading orchestras and chamber partners. He teaches at the Paris Conservatoire and records extensively, notably Debussy, Ravel, Fauré, and Franck. His playing is praised for stylistic authority, structural lucidity, and a painterly palette of color.
